For some reason my Adobe programs stopped working on my computer so I've been trying some substitutes until I get the problem resolved. Instead of Photoshop I'm trying GIMP, it feels really clunky compared to Photoshop (which is a clunky program in it's own right) and I can't wait to get back to photoshop. I've tried to use the open source vector program Inkscape instead of Illustrator and I can't get my computer to even open it. I don't know of any open source software comparable to InDesign but I'm sure there's something. So needless to say I can't wait to get Adobe working again.
But one program I've tried is called Coda and it's a web development program. It blows Dreamweaver out of the water. It's not free though, it cost about 100 dollars but there is a 30-day free trial. Dreamweaver is maybe my least favorite program in the Creative Suite so I'm happy I came across Coda. I highly recommend it if you do any web stuff, especially if you find DW as clunky as I do. When I can afford I will be sure to buy it.
